Hot Rod Halo sprung to life when two car guys with a vision, wanted to protect expensive custom cars, with perfect paint jobs, from curious kids with sticky hands.
The Hot Rod Halo system is designed to fit in two bags that can sit on a passenger seat or in a trunk, which one person can carry. Driving the show car over the platform holds the system in place. Telescoping poles with spring loaded cables are then strung together, completing the mobile show car barrier. An unexpected benefit was that these cars won more shows. The Hot Rod Halo system becomes a value-add for the car.
Our group worked with Hot Rod Halo to refine and redesign the system in SOLIDWORKS and then manufacture the components. Tool paths were created with CAMWorks, and machining was done in our shop.
